Children's Christmas Party

The Childrens Christmas Party was a success with a great time had by all.

But what about the older children / young teenagers?
- Several local parents have wondered whether another party could be organised for the these young teens.

Is there a need for a party for our teenagers?
If so, who will put their hand up to offer to help run the event?

Dog mess gets worse

Dog mess appears to be a problem again around the village. The usual 'hot' spots of Top Ardles Wood and the path towards the reservoir have now been added to with problems being reported on the playing fields and in the church yard.

Whilst there is no excuse for any dog mess, it is particularly unwelcome in areas that are frequented by children. It is children who are at greatest risk of toxicarosis.

Most dog owners are responsible so why has there been such an increase in reports of this problem.

The problem has obviously got to someone as a few 'home-made' signs have appeared on the edge of the playing field and in the church yard. Whilst most will feel an affinity towards the 'sign maker' perhaps the language used could have been better as some people were offended.

Anyway, come on you dog lovers - get a grip. BAG IT & BIN IT!

Village Hall Re-Development

What is to be done with our village hall?
The hall has just opened (June 2006) following the fire last May. Soon after the fire it transpired that a local businessman made an offer of £200,000 for the site plus a donation of £5000 per year for 5 years. This offer galvanised the current Village Hall Committee to decide to relocate the hall to the Memorial Playing Fields site on the edge of the village but as yet, have not produced any evidence to support such a move.

What are your thoughts?
